Wandering

I've been searching for a place to live for this coming year. I keep showing up at coffee shops and front doors hoping that I find something special. This year has been, well, difficult in the living situation department. I find my self missing things like squeaky stairs and doors letting me know my suite mates were coming home from class, suite mates singing worship songs in the shower (yes, I could hear you ;) ), and peptobismal pink kitchens filled with smells of goodness. I think that's what I'm looking as I search for a new place to live, community. I was so blessed with such an amazing place to live for 3 years. I may be blocking out some of the less fond memories (floods and mice and things living in my closet), but I am so grateful for that experience.

I still have 2 months before I have to move out, but I feel this pressure to get something set in stone. So much of my life feels up in the air right now and it's frustrating to have so little control over stuff that feels so pressing. So friends, I ask for your prayers as I search and make my decision. Pray that God puts me in a home where I find peace and community, and that I wouldn't rush into any decisions just to get things decided. Pray that I would surrender this decision to Him and wait for His timing.

Amanda: *scrub scrub* "Blessed be your name, in the land that is plentiful..." [...] *gets out of shower, still humming*
Erin and Molly: "You know, we can hear you, right?"
Amanda: "Oh... Really?!" *laughs*
*shared smirks all around*

The best part is that you guys definitely didn't tell me for quite some time. :-P I miss you too, Molly.

And, the good definitely outweighs the bad in living at ADX, especially in light of the amazing women we've had as housemates. Goodness, I'm going to miss this place so much!

Yay! I think I found a place! Your continued prayers for affirmation in this decision and that it works out would be much appreciated. :D

so I'm reading this WAY after you wrote it in an attempt to use the internet to avoid packing... and can I just make a clarification, there was never anything living in your closet, it just smelled like it... the living things were in our pantry, and they weren't alive for long. oh adx.
