Here's a list off the top of my head:

- Go to a cafe and read passages about people, community, sharing.
- Sit alone in your bedroom, turn down the lights, light a candle, and read/pray a passage about Christ as light.
- Listen to instrumental music while reading a psalm out loud, slowly, one line at a time.
- Read a passage from one of the Gospels multiple times, and imagine yourself as a different person in the scene each time... a person in the crowd, a sick person, a disciple, Jesus, etc. (Also works with OT passages with many different people.)
- Find an online recording of someone reading a passage aloud. Play the recording while meditating, so that you can contemplate the Word with your eyes closed.

Just some thoughts off the cuff. I'm curious to see other suggestions...

***

P.S. - My word verification for this post is "retend." It made me smile, because I think what we're talking about here is a REnewal of our love for God's Word, but also an acknowledgment of our sheep-like quality of sometimes just following the herd, and really needing to be TENDed by our Shepherd. Retend. Beautiful.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17781869149519004226noreply@blogger.com
